Maya Bauer

I qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Manchester in 1988 and have worked extensively in both private practice and the NHS as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner. While completing my MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice I began to experience severe neck pain from a herniated disc. Once this settled I took up Pilates to improve both mobility and strength in my spine and found that not only did my neck feel better but many of the other niggly aches and pains in my spine did too. I was so impressed with the results that I went on to train as a Pilates teacher with Body Control Pilates. I now teach both group classes and private one to one and duet sessions. I have a special interest in working with people with back pain and hypermobility as well as improving the fitness of  the population at  large.

Beverley Stephens

I originally trained as a physiotherapist in 1996 and later completed my MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. While working with clients with movement dysfunction I developed a keen interest in Pilates and went on to train as a Body Control Pilates instructor in 2002. I have been teaching 1-1 private sessions and classes ever since to clients with musculoskeletal conditions as well as those who are fit and well.

We are supervising teachers for Body Control Pilates and may have student Pilates teachers assisting in some of the  classes
